There are many positive sides to the landscape and artistic heritage of Campania, and Ravello can lay claim to an important place in this: the Amalfi Coast is not only a play known all over the world, it is also one of the reference points of the Campania cultural offer that we are developing.
It is hard to imagine another region as full of cultural attractions as ours. We are proud of this because the advantage we have in terms of the starting-point of exceptional beauty which we all have a duty to preserve and promote is not sufficient: local government also needs to support it and take action to ensure its development and growth. And this is exactly what we are doing.
The Ravello Festival is one of the indisputable essential components of these attractions. The 2017 programme is one of great distinction and it is a skilful mix of the spirit of tradition with modernity. Music, dance, art: we present ourselves at our very best to the international public which increased year by year in Ravello, for it is what they experience here that becomes the best promotion of our image to the world at large.
These are certainly not easy times that we are living in, our freedom and our security are threatened, and in many parts of the world the artistic and archaeological heritage is at risk. It is therefore welcome that the Ravello Festival of this year is a message of dialogue and relations between peoples, of the search for unity in our diversity. If we are able to contribute even a small opportunity for reflection on the need to build peace, our efforts will have the satisfaction of having even greater value and importance.
